Clean Water Campaign

Clean water. It’s something many of us take for granted every single day. But for thousands of youths across the Pacific islands, there is no guarantee of safe drinking water at home or at school. Imagine tackling difficult subjects like fractions while dehydrated! This holiday season, will give you the gift of clean water to a child in the Pacific Islands?

Our plan is simple: we’ll provide youths in water-scarce island communities with a portable 2.5-gallon water collection container and a ceramic tablet, similar in size to a bar of soap, that can purify water every day for six months. Our staff and local network of teachers and scientists will provide science education and training on safe water practices. It’s the kind of project that PREL does best—providing opportunities for teachers to educate children—while making an impact in their communities.

Our goal is to distribute 10,000 units across the Pacific Islands, but we can’t do this alone, which is why we’re respectfully asking for a fully tax-deductible gift in one the following amounts (or more!):

• $20 for one unit (a collection container and a purification tablet)
• $50 for three units
• $100 for six units

If you’d like to give a gift in honor of someone (perhaps for the friend who has everything), we’re happy to send a card letting your honoree know of your generosity.

All donations received on our website and mailed to our office between today and December 31 will be allocated toward this campaign. We hope you will take part in this exciting and important initiative!
